Warranty Information

Minks Custom Homes provides you with all statutory warranties in respect to residential construction contracts provided by MN Statutes Section 327A.o1,et.seq. We warrant workmanship for one year, Plbg, HVAC, & Electrical Mechanicals for two years, Structural ten years , as well as any additional warranties provided by individual manufacturers. If you have any questions about these standards or procedures, please let us know.

EMERGENCY SERVICE:

An emergency includes the following:

1) Total loss of heat when the outside temperature is below 45° F.

2) Total loss of electricity (check with the utility company prior to reporting this to Minks Custom Homes).

3) Plumbing leak that requires the entire water supply to be shut off.

4) Total loss of water (check with plumber if leak is at the water heater supply lines).

5) Natural gas smell in house. GET OUT - call the gas company immediately from a phone out of the house.

During business hours, call the Warranty manager @ Minks Custom Homes office at: 763-427-2848.

After hours, weekends, or holidays, call the necessary subcontractors directly. Their phone numbers will be written on the front page of your homebuyer's maintenance manual, or on the furnace, water-heater, and electric service.

OTHER WARRANTY SERVICE:

For your own protection, for occupancy, and for efficient operation of our service department, non-emergency items must be reported to the Warranty Manager at Minks Custom Homes Inc.

Upon receiving your written list of year-end callback items (approximately at your 11 month anniversary), the Warranty Manager will contact you to confirm receiving your list, as well as to go over your list, and address any questions. We will schedule appointments during regular business hours Monday - Friday. We inspect the items listed in your written request to determine appropriate action.

If subcontractors are required to complete repairs, we will notify the appropriate companies and you will be contacted to schedule the work. The work will be scheduled between 8:00AM and 4:00 PM Monday - Friday. Buyers will have to make arrangements for workers to get into the home to make the repairs. If buyers schedule work and the workers arrive and cannot gain entry into the home, the buyer will be charged a trip charge of $50.00 per hour for lost time to the workers.
